11/02/16 10m Phone Net

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in WØMEC, and WB6IXN. Band conditions had a S5 noise level at IXN’s QTH, and NC cud hear both MEC and IXN well. YHX has one more calculus test before the Final, and IXN might be going to the Desert for TG. MEC was down in the QRN at IXN’s QTH.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, KE6YHX, KK6FYG, KK6REB, KK6PAD, and KJ6OML. IXN cudn’t hear MEC’s HT during a test. And YHX reminded IXN to send him Oct. 19 Net checkins. FYG was experiencing a temp of 68 deg. And wind speed up to 25 mph. IXN had no wind in Santa Ana. REB cudn’t hear Clem during the test on the HT, and Steve heard YHX and FYG FB. PAD did not hear Clem during the HT TEST, but his sigs were FB on the station rig. OML checked in but IXN failed to ask Gene for a Braille report!

IXN went to sleep in the easy chair. There was no NC reported for the 10m Net. However, WØMEC, N6HC, KJ6OML, N1BKD, and N6WDK were heard on frequency.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, K6PAD, KJ6OML, KK6FYG, AF6N, KE6HZN, KK6REB, KJ6JKA, and KJ6PMD. Ops were busy giving signal reports to MEC. Clem was trying another antenna on 2m. IXN cudn’t hear Clem on the new antenna, but on the ‘Slim Jim’ he was 5/9 the whole way! PAD was helping Clem with sig reports as they worked wid the other antenna OML said AF6C has not yet returned from his sister’s home back East, and Gene said 10 Talking book machines were serviced at Braille Institute. FYG reported a 2.5 EQ at 12:30 pm in Costa Mesa, and Mike had 74 deg SA wind tonite. AF6N loaded Windows 10 on the computer and is now having problems loading the correct drivers! And Jim also having used a ‘Slim Jim’ antenna. HZN, Chris, joined OCARC 2 months ago!...Welcome aboard, Chris! And, HZN has a new rig sitting in the box in the shack! REB’s son’s water polo season is now over so Steve will probably be involved wid swimming, or maybe wrestling in the near future. IXN apologizes to Greg, JKA, for skipping over him on the list! Greg had 5/9 sigs at checkin. And Phil, PMI, also had 5/9 sigs at NC’s QTH.

11/16/16 10m Phone Net

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in WØMEC, WB6IXN, KE6HZN, W6ATB, KJ6OML, K6PAD, and KJ6JKA. NC gave checkin sig reports and IXN and Lee will be in Indio Thanksgiving week, and HZN, Chris, has a new vertical antenna plus a new IC-7300 rig. IXN and ATB plan to be at Club Meeting Fri. eve. And Greg found some Net traffic hard to copy. I believe OML said that no Ops were at Braille Institute today. PAD, on emergency power, and Ops found copy difficult in the QRN. JKA said ‘HI’ to all, and Wil used MEC as backup relay to NC.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6OML, K6PAD, WØMEC, KE6HZN, KE6YHX, KK6REB, and KK6FYG. OML will have TG dinner at the QTH, and PAD, wid strong 5W sigs tonite, announced an upcoming Contest. MEC, on 4 ½ W strong sigs, was on the ‘Slim Jim’ ant. tonite. HZN will have a family get-together where Chris will get turkey roasting duties! YHX gets the WX station work, gets a 7” monitor for Map Wall,and, with the WX station working indoors, Corey also wants outdoor info.! REB will have in-laws in fer TG, and Steve investigates LED bulbs. IXN said the only EQ during Super Moon was a 7+ mag. Event off the Coast of New Zealand.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving. No formal Net! The informal group included WØMEC and KJ6OML. Other Ops were busy wid Thanksgiving preparations.

The Net was again informal. The group included KJ6OML, WØMEC, W6GMU, K6PGH, KK6REB, and K6KJ(Bob). IXN was in Palm Desert wid brother, Lee, so was not present to take Net Notes.

11/30/16 10m Phone Net

W6ZE/? Was unable to copy NC! QRN at WB6IXN was 9.5…Too many Christmas lights for one thing! However, K6DNR and K6PAD were heard in the QRN at IXN’s QTH!

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, KJ6OML, K6PAD, KK6TRC, W6JTT, W6ATB, KK6FYG, N6CTB(Cliff), W6SQQ(roger), and W6REB. Ops reported poor audio on IXN’s sigs. IXN will try picking up a new microphone. MEC had 5/9 sigs at NC wid the new HT using 4 ½ W! OML reported 2m Ops on the 23rd, and PAD, TRC, and JTT, all celebrated fabulous TGs! OML reported ATB on 2m on the 23rd. FYG, wid 5/9 sigs, raised the antenna a bit higher, and CTB celebrated TG wid family and reported IXN’s poor audio sigs.
