IXN and Lee were in Oregon. AF6C checked in W6HC, KE6YHX, W6JTT, WØMEC, K6PHD, and KJ6JKA. Wid IXN in Oregon, no notes on net news were recorded. KE6YHX will be NC on the 2m Net.

We thank KEYHX for assuming NC duties while IXN & Lee were in Oregon. KE6YHX checked in W∅MEC, K6PAD, KJ6JKA, and W6JTT. MEC was on the Slim Jim ant., which is similar to a J-Pole, lighting up 3bars, and Clem is planning to make a 1 & ¼ wave J-pole Loop wid a PVC mount. PAD lit 6 bars on the rig, and Phil reported some towers were blown up in Greenville, NC. JKA gave an update of jamming on the WARFA Net…(Note: The main offending OP has been served a Notice of Forfeiture from the FCC). JTT, lighting up 2 bars, reported rats in the neighborhood. (Note: IXN and neighbors had the same problem! We knew which neighbor it was that had let animals live in his house wid feces, dead rats and all the trimmings…It took County Vector Control to clean up the problem!)

W6ZE/AF6C checked in KJ6OML, K6LDC, WB6IXN, WØMEC, KE6YHX, KK6REB, W6JTT, and KJ6JKA. Gene said the Triumvirate skipped Braille this week, and AF6C asked Gene to borrow the ramp fer Field Day again this year. OPs welcomed LDC back to the Net after a long absence. Larry will pay Club dues come next meeting, and, Larry put up a new beam. IXN read news abt Mars, and, Russia’s new space station and launch pad. MEC, on the dipole tonite, had high QRN, asked fer a repeat on Larry’s call, and cudn’t hear IXN. AF6C got the Club generator up & running fer Field Day, changing the oil and cleaning the air filter. AF6C recommended YHX buy another battery to eliminate the purchase of a vy expensive starter switch, and JTT experienced high QRN wid Sam talking abt a ground plane antenna. REB’s son goes to the prom, and the family enjoyed a vy fun evening! JKA cudn’t hear YHX tonite, and both Wil & IXN had electricity problems…IXN’s problem turned out to be a loose bulb in a lamp!

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6OML, W6JTT, WØMEC, KJ6JKA, KE6YHX, KK6REB, and KK6FYG. OML, AF6C, and DLA will try to service Talking Books next week, and JTT, getting some computer work done, has a new 2m ground plane antenna. IXN & MEC briefly discussed railroading in Oregon…Clem worked for awhile in Klamath Falls. JKA & IXN discussed briefly jamming by W6WBJ and friends in middle California. They are jamming the 75-80m band! WBJ, Bill, has been issued a fine of $25,000 by the FCC. Bill is an attorney and intends to fight the forfeiture! We eagerly await the outcome! JKA & IXN talked about this ‘LID’! YHX intends to use AF6C’s advice to get another battery rather then use a vy expensive high capacity switch to carry a heavy current. REB’s son attended a Prom after which he & the family limosined to dinner. FYG also operates on the 75-80m bands and is aware of WBJ and friends jamming on the bands. Mike also noted Mars closest approach to Earth this month.

W6ZE/AF6C checked in KE6YHX, W6JTT, WB6IXN, WØMEC, W6HHC, N6ATB, KJ6OML, and KJ6JKA. Band conditions were much better tonite. AF6C reported a power outage lasting abt a ½ hour last Thursday. And YHX added a new winch to the front of the truck and repaired a window washer. JTT has a new 6m antenna at the mountain QTH, and Sam has been doing some work in the garage. IXN sent JKA a notice of forfeiture of llcense for an errant Ham in Central CA., and ATB cud not hear YHX sigs tonite. MEC lit 5 bars on IXN’s rig tonite although IXN had weak sigs at MEC’s QTH. AF6C and HHC have been getting connecting coax cables ready fer Field Day, and, they are also testing band pass filters. HHC said MEC’s sigs were low at the QTH. MEC was hearing better on the dipole tonite, not so good on the vertical ant. OML reported the Triumvirate AF6C, OML, and DLA serviced 27 machines at Braille Institute today…TNX, Guys! HHC still thinks an errant dtreet light is making QRN at the QTH! And Ken has resumed more ATV research. JKA, working 75-80m, hadn’t retuned well fer 10m…Will was weak tonite. ATB told YHX abt a couple of radios and then Greg ‘flew away’.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6OML, W6JTT, KE6YHX, KK6JKA, AF6C, WØMEC, KK6REB, KK6WGY(Edward), KK6YUP(Jeff), W6ATB, KW6SKS(Steven), and KK6FYG…GREAT CHECKIN, OPs! OML reported 27 Talking Book machines serviced at Braille today, and JJT’s 2m ground plane antenna is dong FB on 2m! YHX had to move the truck license plate to accommodate the new winch he mounted on the front of the truck, and Corey will send IXN checkins fer the June 1st 2m Net. JKA & FYG will be glad when the FCC removes a LID license in Central CA. And AF6C briefly discusses band pass filters fer use on Field Day. MEC, wid the ant. up abt 25 ft., was only using 2W power tonite! Edward, WGY, ‘flew in and flew out’ as did YUP, Jeff, and SKS, Steven. FYG and IXN briefly discussed increasing seismic activity in S. CA…IXN thinks most events are occurring around the San Jacinto Fault area.

FIELD DAY!...Hope to see many OPs at the FD site near Knott’s Berry Farm! KE6YHX assumed NC duties fer AF6C tonite, and Corey checked into Net WB6IXN, WB8HBK, WØMEC, W6JTT, KJ6OML, N6HC, KJ6JKA, and N6TMT. Many OPs had already prepared equipment for Field Day this weekend! IXN has a main valve leaking at his lawn sprinklers that has to be replaced, and YHX replaced some shower heads. Glad to have HBK, Lou, wid us tonite!...Lou’s 1st checkin since 1968! Clem wid his low power is being heard by most OPs tonite, and JTT had high QRN tonite. IXN & Lee will try to make FD Saturday nite, and HC will be wid an LA Group fer Field Day. And OPs tnx Corey fer NC duties tonite!...Corey will also have the truck to FD. JKA cud not copy YHX so HC dis relay duties fer Corey. TNT came into the Net later and was vy faint at IXN’s QTH.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in W6JTT, KJ6JKA, KE6YHX, WØMEC, KK6TRC, and KK6WEY(Ed). JTT, wid 2m up & running, is now concentrating on setting up a 160m CW station wid post World War gear. JKA will visit different FD setups this year. IXN is not sure abt BSA participation at the Club FD this year, but YHX will be wid ATB on the digital station. We welcome WEY, Ed, to the Net, and Ed will not be wid us fer FD. TRC plans to bring the Bluebird motor home to FD Sat. morning.

W6ZE/W6HHC checked in KJ6OML, WB6IXN, WØMEC, KE6YHX, KK6REB, and W6JTT. AF6C didn’t gets the station put back in operation at the QTH after Field Day yet! OML reported 10m pretty dead at FD, and HHC said that 20 & 40m did well. IXN & Lee visited FD site Sat. evening and found a very efficient FD site and PGH instructing 3 Boyscouts in the Art of Amateur Radio in the GOTA tent…The boys also prepared excellent meal for hungry OPs…We thank the hamradio scoutmaster for his interest in introducing young people to Amateur Radio! MEC was on the vertical ant. tonite and IXN heard Clem abt S3. HHC gave preliminary Field Day Scores. We thank HHC, AF6C, and GMU fer high scores on 20m, and IXN cudn’t hear REB well tonite. YHX helped wid FD setup, and Corey worked abt 4 ½ hrs wid ATB on the digital station on 20 & 40m…And IXN & Lee saw most of the improvements YHX made on the truck! JTT, wid noise & poor reception, will join us on 2m.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, W6JTT, KJ6OML, W6HHC, KK6REB, KE6YHX, KK6FYG, W6HC, KJ6JKA, and N6FUZ(John}. MEC, IXN & Lee continue to research old steam railroad memorabilia. We missed JTT on FD, and Sam says the discone ant. continues to work well on 2m. OML, AF6C, and DLA got a day off at Braille Institute, and HHC gave a Field Day scores rundown…TNX, KEN! REB ‘flew in and flew out’, and YHX continues work on the truck. FRG said it’s vy hot down Rialto way, but Mike is glad they lifted the water restriction! HC enjoyed himself at a FD site off the 57 Fwy in the Orange Hills and Arnie got the station back together in time to get some gardening done today. JKA will have some of the neighbors in for a pool party over the 4th. Jon Green, N6FUZ, a General, checked in from Gardena…We invited Jon to join us on Net nites!
