Club Historian YHX is busy reorganizing years of old OCARC records…Corey will find the old Club records vy interesting! And Corey took over NC duties from AF6C at around 7:58 pm. MEC, S8 at IXN’s QTH tonite, is on the dipole ant. ATB, busy wid business, got back to Net tonite…ATB will be moving to Oregon, and he & AF6C briefly discussed operating the 10m Net on 15m! OML was the only Club OP at Braille. REB still has a rig problem, and Steve is having his antennas professionally installed! IXN & Lee are still awaiting final results on a possible trip to Oregon, and ETC reminds all abt the upcoming Board Meeting, and Tom mounts a screwdriver antenna on the truck before he and the XYL take off on vacation.
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, KK6OOS, KE6YHX, and KK6FYG. IXN, fer the 1st time, heard MEC at S8 on 10m! And, Clem was on the dipole tonite. Lito,OOS, joined us wid gud sigs fer the 3rd time tonite using his dual band 2m/440 Diamind antenna, IXN has the same antenna!...and Lito is on the K6HRP Repeater. YHX was not off frequency at IXN’s QTH on 10m tonite, and Corey reminded all OPs abt the Club Board Meeting Saturday. FYG & IXN briefly discussed the forecast ‘Big Event’ for the San Andreas Fault…Some seismologists think that seismic pressure has moved from the San Andreas to the inland northwest trending valley faults due to the Big Bend in the San Andreas near Santa Barbara that separates the San Andreas fault into two northwest trending sections striking in different northwest directions! Then Mike & Bob briefly discuss meteor showers.

And AF6C has been out looking fer a new car. HC preoccupied wid business, looks fer a new laptop computer, and wid Cass help, Arnie repaired the 2 element 40m beam…Arnie uses an old Windows XP computer while awaiting the purchase of a new laptop. JTT, wid strong sigs tonite, still works on the 160m low power transmitter. PAD gets PSK-31 set up & working on the computer, and IXN gets a SCAM notice to appear in “County Court”. JKA works wid a 80m Net on Sundays at 8:00 am, and OML sigs are not as strong at IXN’s QTH tonite. ATB’s 2m beam is still down, but Greg still uses the 6m beam, a vertical, and a 40m dipole for communications. REB has a high SWR problem…Steve thinks water is the villain! MEC is still working on the new amplifier.

JTT will soon explore the 160m band once he gets the new transmitter working, and Sam and son get a ride in a B-26 aircraft, (1952 vintage) at John Wayne Airport! YCJ checked in on the HT from the bleachers in Dodger stadium where, at the moment the Dodgers were losing!...And Ken will be at Field Day this year! OML said no Braille report this week, hopefully next week. ATB continues to monitor meteor scatter on the 6m & 2m bands, and TRC reminded IXN that ETC, Tom, is his brother! And AF6C lamented over closure of certain Orchard Supply stores around the County…IXN misses them, too! JTT relayed sigs from Clem, MEC…IXN cud not hear Clem tonite! FYG and IXN were happy wid low seismicity around the Southland, and we hope it continues! IXN had the Mercury symbol, Hg, after YHX’s name, and Bob promptly forgot what Corey was talking about!
W6ZE/KE6YHX found operating Net difficult! The band was atrocious! Corey checked in N6HC, W6JTT, W6ATB, WB6IXN, KJ6JKA, and WØMEC. Noise level was up and most sigs were just above, at, or below the noise level! Arnie was the only checkin wid strong sigs!...And Arnie relayed many QSOs tonite. IXN had S8 noise level and cud not hear NC! HC is looking forward to Club meeting Friday eve. JKA’s 75m amplifier is doing well, and all other sigs were not copied at IXN’s QTH due to vy bad band conditions!
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WB9YCJ, W6GMU, WØMEC, W6JTT, KE6YHX, KK6YUP, KK6FYG, KJ6JKA, W66ATB, K6PAD, and KK6REB. YCJ checked in from the bleachers in Anaheim Stadium and reported an Angel lead in the game, leading finally to an Angel victory. GMU gave a short report on station antennas, and Paul is getting ready fer Field Day. YCJ also plans on working at Field Day this year. MEC heard HC and JTT on lousy 10m band tonite. GMU is also preparing fer FD, and Paul will be working CW. YHX commented on lousy band conditions on 10m, giving further info on 10m comments. FYG commented on the loose bear incident near him. JKA got a 220 V pwr supply to help increase sigs on the 75m bsnd, and PAD enjoys working PSK-31. REB increased sig strength when he switched from a magmount to a J-pole ant. ATB did not come back fer comments, but Greg had gud sigs at checkin. I have no comments from YUP!...Jeff had gud sigs at checkin.
