Bob Heil - K9EID (of Heil Sound) dropped by the OCARC Field Day site as a guest of Dan and Kristin (a.k.a. 'The PEQs'). Recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Bob is also known for his line of high quality commercial and ham radio microphones. Here Bob poses in front of the OCARC banner as he prepares to play another tune.

He is a view of the outdoor Satellite station set up by Chris-KJ6ZH that used two ground mounted vertical antennas (not shown) for most of the passes. Under the table coolers held drinks for the thirsty 20M operators and others who came by.

Kristin-K6PEQ is in charge of tracking the satellite with the antenna on a late night pass, while Chris-KJ6ZH attempts to make a contact. Waits for the generator to quit just as the pass starts! The "tape-measure antenna" was provided by Jim-N6JF.

2006 Field Day operation is over and the Sunday tear down is almost completed. The OCARC's brand-new 40-foot lightweight aluminum tower is shown in the foreground. Here's the great crew who stayed to the end:
