“Club Radio Picnic & California QSO Party”

Come join the fun at an OCARC Radio Picnic. The picnic is to be held at the Jeffrey Open Space Preserve in Irvine. Participants should plan on bringing their own food and drinks. This event is still in the planning stage with details to follow. You'll want to keep this date clear.

Besides the fun of the picnic, we plan on operating a single HF station, using our 1 KW Bioenno Power LiFePO4 battery, in the 2017 California QSO Party. We plan to rotate operators often so everyone who wants to can have a turn at the mic. After the picnic when you return home, you may continue to operate in the contest under your own call and submit your contacts as part of the Club entry.

Annual Radio & Electronics Auction

Due to a work-related obligation Chip - K7JA, will not be able to emcee our auction. Nicholas - AF6CF has volunteered to act as auctioneer instead.

This will be the annual OCARC auction night with Chip Margelli, K7JA returning as auctioneer. Members are invited to empty garages and offer those treasured boat anchors for sale. Even valuable working equipment is welcomed for sale. This is your chance to buy a bargain addition for your shack, or unload those unneeded items from your shack.
